Easy Folded Poncho by Churchmouse yarns and Teas

Our favorite poncho transcends the trends. As a friend from Peru wryly observed, “Where I come from, we’ve worn ponchos for three thousand years!” It’s easy to knit (just one long stockinette rectangle), easy to finish, and easy to throw on. We think it’s like a really elegant sweatshirt.

• Suggested yarn: Rowan Felted Tweed DK, or Blue Sky Fibers Baby Alpaca (Melange)
• Yarn weight: DK 
• Gauge: 20 stitches and 27 rows = 4 inches in Stockinette stitch, blocked
• Needle size: US 6 - 4.0 mm
• Yardage: 840 - 980 yards (768 - 896 m)
